| General Situation |

This airfield in the central Valais is no longer used. Situated some 30 km east of Sion, the airfield of Turtmann is at the eastern end of the village. The base was only used during exercises and hosted 2 squadrons of F-5 fighters. FlSt 1 was disbanded and FlSt 6 was relocated to Payerne.

Coming from Sion, follow the main road through the village of Turtmann and at the end, you will cross the taxiway. Some 500 m further, there is a wooden hangar on your left hand side.
