Based on the Memorandum of Understanding between Norway and Switzerland signed 19 February 1997, the Swiss Air Force can train night operations over Norway. Those operations normally are flown out of Ørland (Norway). This is the home of 338 Skv – operating the F-16A and F-16B Fighting Falcon and of 330 Skv, "C" Flight – operating the Sea King Mk.43 rescue helicopter.
The F-16s of the Kongelige Norske Luftforsvaret (Royal Norwegian Air Force) are often used as sparring partners.
