Catran was founded officially on 1 December 2004 but had to declare bankrupcy only two weeks later. The aircraft intended to operate MD-11(F) freighters from Amsterdam to Africa. The first destinations were Nairobi and Windhoek. As the sponsor wanted the airline to be operational on 15 December 2004 the time schedule was very tight and in the end, the airline did not make it.

Only one aircraft was painted up in the colours of this company.
