This was the return visit to the one made by the Swiss pilots school in September 2012.

Between 3 and 5 May 2013, the first international Seaplane Meeting at Lucerne took place. Several participating aircraft preferred to spend the night on dry grounds and choose the nearby airport of Buochs.

The highlight of the event was the PBY5A Catalina which is normally based at Leystad Airport. It was the first time this plane came to Switzerland.

The City of Lucerne did not allow any landings or take-offs within the city limits of any participating aircraft. This resulted in the planes landing far, far away from the visitors, very much to the disappointment of the numerous enthusiasts. The transfer of passengers by boat would have been way to time-consuming and so the organsors decided to operate out of Buochs with the aircraft making splash-and-goes in that area of the lac, where it was permitted.

The Pilatus PC-6 of the Swiss Air Force are used – amongst other missions – to drop parachutists. The rugged landing gear allow the aircraft to operate from unprepared grounds.

One of the locations used by the pilots of Lufttransport Staffel (LTSt) 7 is located near the small hamlet of Ersigen near Kirchberg. There, two Pilatus PC-6 aircraft were used to drop up to six parachutists at various location. Thanks to the excellent STOL capabilities of these aircraft, a very short strip or field is needed.

The SkyWork Airlines AG is a Swiss airline, with its head office at the airport of Bern. It primarily operates scheduled flights to destinations across Europe and Northern Africa, with charter operations throughout the summer months.

It introduced a new livery in October 2010 and indicated at the same time its intention to increase its fleet to 2 De Havilland Canada DHC-8. Today, the airline operates 2 De Havilland Canada DHC-8 and 5 Dornier Do 328. The flightplan is set so that all flights can normally be operated using all 5 Dronier Do 328 and a single De Havilland Canada DHC-8.

The following images were taken during a visit to Berne airport in April 2013. The bulk of the movements took place between 16:30 and 17:30 resulting in almost the entire fleet being photographed.
