Edelweiss Air operates a single Airbus A.330 for long haul flights. The aircraft – registered HB-IQZ – at its lease ending in autumn 2010.
Edelweiss Air intended to prolong the lease for two years, the owner however already had an offer from Air Transat which intends to lease that aircraft for six years. It is therefore understandable that the owner decided to lease this plane to Air Transat. The aircraft itself made its last revenue flight for Edelweiss Air on 15 October 2010 and then underwent maintenance with SR Technis.
On 13 November 2010, it went on a post-maintenance test flight already in the colors of the new operator, but retaining the Swiss Civil Registration. Few days later, it was re-registered as C-GTSN.
