On 27 June 2012, the Swiss Government announced its intention to replace the venerable Dassault Falcon 50 T-783 with a Dassault Falcon 900.
The Falcon 50 has been bought second hand in 1996 and has become a rather maintenance intense aircraft over the last few years. It will be replaced by a more modern Falcon 900, which is currently being searched for on the second hand market. The Government also set a upper limit of CHF 35m for the procurement of the new VIP aircraft.
