The Spanish island of Mallorca is not only a tourist resort, but also a prime summer destination for many aircraft photographers.

The airport of Palma de Mallorca has two parallel runways. Arrivals will normally done on the left of the two runways and so departures are on the right hand one – irrespectivly of the landing direction. Compared to 2011, traffic from Scandinavia an Russia increase whereas the flights from the UK decreased. It was also felt that the number of flights of the previously dominant Air Berlin and of its subsidiaries also became less than in previous years.
